Where can officers be seen?

They respond to a variety of emergencies that require additional emergency manpower and management. In addition to unplanned events, you can see them around town at parades and other large planned events.

When are officers on duty?

All ESDA officers are on call 24/7. Some of the departments that request NLESDA are NLFPD and NLPD. See the Media Gallery listed on the left to see photos of your officers on duty.

What is some of their required training?

Each officer must complete the required Federal Emergency Management courses for their rank. Officers are trained in many different areas including First Aid/CPR, traffic management, and emergency response.

How can I become an officer?

Each officer will go through a background check. We are currently accepting applications. Download application and submit or contact us for more information.

Warning Systems

New Lenox ESDA maintains a few warning systems including the tornado sirens and the lightning detection system.
